5 Ways To Have A Happier Life

Updated: Jan 11, 2022

Have you ever stopped and thought about happiness? When we say thinking about happiness, we don't mean searching for or chasing new ways to be happy. No, sir. What we mean is you pondering over the concept of happiness. Why is happiness so elusive? Or should we say why is it so sought after?

The economist in us would have the answer to this dilemma. It's all about the demand and supply. If our brains were dozed with shots upon shots of serotonin, there would have been a cornucopia of happiness. Maybe then, happiness wouldn't have been so elusive.

So, isn't it wonderful how by restricting contentment, we were given a purpose in life? Something to strive and live for. This striving doesn't have to be so tough though. In fact, today we have a very useful article planned for you. We'll be looking at five ways to have a happier life and make the most of what life hands to you.

And no, we won't give you the life-giving-you lemons proverb!

5 Tips to Lead a Happier Life

So, without further ado, here are a few tips that can help you be happier:

We all know our diets influence our physical health. However, do you know that carbohydrates release serotonin? This hormone makes us feel good. Now, don't go ingesting large amounts of carbs! Large amounts of serotonin can cause a surge in emotions, and the high highs will lead to dismal lows.

Proteins release dopamine in our bodies. This not only helps us concentrate but also helps us feel pleasure. So, carb intake should be modest, protein intake should be relatively high. Also, please don't skip meals as that can cause low energy levels and end up with you feeling down.

Spread the Love

Do you know that acts of kindness can help us feel better? Don't trust us? Well, here is scientific proof. Simple acts of kindness like giving a stranger a smile, passing compliments, and helping others can do wonders to your overall mood.

Exercise & Sleep

This must be the most generic advice ever, but trust us, regular exercise plus healthy sleeping habits will improve your overall emotion. When you're all rested, you will also have more energy to tackle what the day has in store for you.

From penning down the details of your day to listing down what you're grateful for, journaling thoughts is a great way to have a happier life. As you spend more time recounting the positives, you will have less time to overthink and be sad about things you cannot control. That's just basic math, right?

Treat Yourself

We see that you are always ready to give your 100% to the people around you without ever expecting anything in return. Well, it is time you gave your 100% to yourself. Take yourself out on a date, buy that thing you've had your eyes on for quite some time, and take the day off.

This world is yours my friend, and we are so proud of the journey you are on. Keep it up!
